School graduates that job recruiters seek!

I hear a lot about how the top schools aren't actually recruited as heavily as some of the top publics. For instance, I heard that recruiters place Michigan Ann-Arbor more highly than Cornell for engineering (or something like that).

So which schools DO recruiters like, for science?

University of Wisconsin, Madison.
University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign
All are good for science & engineering.

I heard a lot of Cal Poly-SLO engineers get hired at graduation.

I think that it's true that the top schools are not as heavily recruited. I got a master's at Rennselaer Polytechnic and it had a very active recruiter interviewing program. Before that, I went to two higher ranked schools that did not have much recruiting at all. I suspect that any Polytech will have great recruiting.

That's strange. Then what's the point of going to such an expensive school?

A large portion of the engineering students at "top" schools either go directly to graduate school or take a job in finance. Many engineering firms to not heavily recruit at these schools because they are not very successful at attracting students.
