I am the only student from my school applying abroad for college and my school is really very inexperienced with all this college stuff. Today I fianally got the following things printed on the school letter head:
2 teacher recs
1 counselor rec
1 school profile
1 Transcript
1 application for fee waiver
1 cover letter
But the school gave only a single copy of each and I am applying to 12 colleges. If i just get it photocopied then the color part won't come and it won't look authentic.
They are not giving me the letterheads either so that i can get the letters photocopied on them.
They are telling me to scan the letters and print them the number of times i want to. But the school letter head is a thick paper and on scanning the resolution becomes i bit blurred.
I am so tired of running around my school teachers and office staff. :( Its becoming late and i ant to send all the stuff before 15th.
Can someone please tell me what to do?

Colour xerox?

Can you get it "certified true" (normally just a stamp and a signature on a monochrome xerox photocopy) by your school's administration staff or a notary public?

yeah i am getting that the school stamp put for all ^copies but is that enough? The copies look a bit flimsy still compared to the originals.
what have you guys done?

the stamp on photocopies are enough.. I hve done the same..

Yes a stamp and possibly the principals or vice-principals signature on monochrome photocopies should be enough. I have done the same thing for all documents that the school issued.

I just have one question. I have photocopied the common app papers (teacher evaluation forms, school reports) to send to each uni. Do the photocopies of these also need to be stamped?

hmm, i didn't bother to get stamps on my documents. will it be valid?

No i don't think you need to get stamps on the photocopies of the common app.
current- without stamps or valid signatures you might have a problem- you should check with ur colleges.

sorry for barging in ... what do you mean by letter head ??

it simply is the particular stationary a school uses for official documentation.
It usually has the name and address of the school as well as its logo.

sigh. i hate all this admin crap.

i have no idea how to get the stamps. i don't want to because i have basically razed all my bridges with the school.

"razed all my bridges with the school" meaning what? can you explain further?

current- I suppose you can do it without stamps too.. generally students do.. but if you really can't, you should be fine.. your teachers and guidance counselor signature should be there on the letters.. thats the most important thing..

yeaps there are there. thank the lord.

i have graduated from high school- on the last day, i said something nasty to most of my teachers. i think.

^ well thats one thing all students at my school talk about during senior year!
you know like- 'as soon i get my admit card i'll tell the principal what a ***** she is' and all ,but nobody actually ends up doing! :)
don't worry you'll be fine with signatures too.

also can you tell me what all things you guys put in ur packages?

I will send:

Two teacher recs
School form, final report form, counselor rec and transcripts
Financial Aid Info- Bank statement, income statement and the forms colleges require

what about you ?

even I am sending those.. + extra recommendation from my sports teacher..

actually many places want the documents to be attested, so if the school wont do it just get it attested by a public official

dear lord, none of my documents are attested.
