“However, if there aren’t that many openings for 10th grade, I will take Groton and SPS off my list. I decided not to apply to Andover next year because I don’t think I’ll get in. I figure its not worth applying since I know I won’t get in.”

I’m not really sure if that’s the right attitude to have. This year I applied for sophomore year, but I only applied to three schools, Deerfield, Choate, and Exeter. I wasn’t going to apply to Exeter but my friend goes there so she MADE me finish my app. I ended up getting in (I have NO idea how that happened) and will be attending in the fall as a new lower.

Also, don’t you think that 7-10 schools is a lot to handle? Especially in high school, I had a ton of work, sports, and clubs, and applying to three was already a lot. It was good though, because I could just focus on the three schools I liked and I ended up not getting rejected from any, but waitlisted at two and accepted to one. Just be careful not to do more than you can handle.
