Hey guys, I was wondering how often do freshmens start writing the school newspaper for their school? Is it easy to become an editorial as an underclassmen? Help would be appreciated. thanks

Bump…

I would imagine that this would depend on the school?

It depends on the school.

It depends on the school. I started writing for the paper during freshman year. I didn’t get an editor’s position for next year, but a lot of second and third-years did.

You have to be a good writer for one. Also, your opinion can’t be typical. I was a news writer freshmen year and I’ve had my own editorial since soph year. I would imagine larger schools Have larger papers and more articles.

How would the school be able to naturally tell if you’re talentedly viable for school articles?

Not to be cruel, but you might not be cut out for the paper if this is any indication of your style/ability.

If you’re just going to come here rather to offend my writing style, I suggest you discrete yourself from the post. You have no right to start a flame.

I see ham baxter’s point, but that’s just mean to point out.

I know that some schools, like mine, require a resume with a writing sample to be considered. That would probably be their first method of cutting down on applications, soon followed by a field review of their articles.

Okay thanks. I think I have enough answers now. :)
