I applied for admission to the School of Art at The Cooper Union, and was not accepted. So, I've revamped my portfolio, and plan to apply again this year for fall 08.

Basically I want to know if there is anyone out there who HAS be admitted to the School of Art and what types of materials were included in your portfolio? I mean, how fantastical is your work and what do I have to do to be admitted?

The Cooper Union is my dream school in my dream location and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to receive admission. Problem is, I need examples of what I'm up against or SOME type of guidance because I feel like I'm flying blind here.

Anything I can do to help me stand out? Any tips for the home test? Do you know of anywhere that I can view the portfolios of current students?

i was accepted this year to the art department yay

you can see my portfolio at stephanieayu.deviantart.com
many recent things arent on there, but msot of the things i sent to cooper is in that website. its even got some of the hometest things on there too...

goodluck, dont give up! cooper is amazing.

i applied early because i got a referral during portfolio day, but i was actually denied early acceptance. but luckily they accepted me during regular decision time.

let me know if you have questions or anything AIM-stephanieayu

If you're looking for applicants' portfolios just google "deviant art cooper union". I also believe they have a livejournal community, with artists posting their portfolios.

Hi. I’m also planning on applying to cooper next year.
I was just wondering, if I’m applying for first year freshmen for architecture, do I need a portfolio? How about the home test? Which one comes first?

And also, is there a topic for the portfolio?
THANK YOU SO MUCH
