I wish I could be your son's friend! :P

Edit: That sounded kinda weird, but I meant as an admitted SCA applicant lol....

rainmama - thanks for the advice. I just got off the phone with an SCA rep. He said that the production decisions haven't been sent out yet, so it is possible that I will still be accepted for that major. He also said that if that is not the case, there are only two production courses not available to me as a Cinema-Television major with emphasis on Critical Studies, one of which most production majors don't even take. Also, it is possible to transfer into the production focused major with 48 units, usually after three semesters. This was very encouraging news. Just to clarify - Critical Studies and Production are the same major, just with different focuses. Therefore, it is easy to take courses in the other track or to transfer.

I wish I had applied second choice into Critical Studies, but I found out too late that they were very similar.

Congratulations, Basil!!!!!

My son has been accepted into Production and is now running around in a USC hat and a huge grin.

That said, if he hadn't been accepted to SCA, his plan was to attend USC as an undeclared major, take film courses, finish up his general ed requirements in subjects that interest him, volunteer to crew on advanced students' films, continue to make his own films, and reapply.

Clearly, there are a lot more acceptances yet to be sent out. Good luck to all on the thread and congrats to Basil!!!

Great news, Nester! And Basil, thanks for reporting that you still have a chance for Production. That should help calm some nerves here to know that many more acceptances are yet to come. Good luck all!

Wow. Congrats to Nestor's son. This is getting exciting!! Basil and Nester, are you both from Southern Cal?

All new acceptees-- please sign in and add ACCEPTED to your names at the APPLICANTS USC CLASS 2012 thread. I don't know how to add a link but here goes: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/467491-applicants-usc-class-2012-a.html

Nope. Ohio.

^^^cool! it worked!

D's status has finally changed to "being reviewed" on 3/20 from weeks in "we received". This is kind of late, but at least she was not forgotten completely.

Okay, my status changed from 'received' to 'reviewing' on 3/18, updated 3/19, and I got my acceptance letter today to SCA. Damn they work fast once they get going.

:) :)

What major tor-dazzle?

Wow tor-dazzle! Great news! Keeping fingers crossed for all the rest of you.

Writing for Film & Television, which means they really are crazy-fast since I had about 40 pages of supplement.

Congratulations!

Congrats tor-dazzle!!!

Congratulation tor-dazzle! So happy for you!

tor-dazzle, congratulations! Best wishes to the rest still waiting.

ACCEPTED to SCA: Writing for Screen and Television. I had the exact same status changes as Tor-dazzle. Maybe it is an indication. Although, I recieved me mail today, but I think that's just because things takes longer to get to Alaska. WOOH! I told you Tor-dazzle that we'd both get in. I'm just psychic like that.
