School of Communication

I'm presently a junior & I consider FSU as my number choice! But I don't know too much about their Comm Program (more specifically Advertising/PR). Any information about the program will be greatly appreciated!

I’m not exactly sure which department you want, but “advertising” could be considered [Marketing[/url], which is a department within the FSU [url=http://www.cob.fsu.edu/]College of Business](Marketing | College of Business).

Communications can also mean several different things. FSU’s [College of Communication](http://comm.fsu.edu/) includes two departments, the [Department of Communication/urland the [url=http://comm.fsu.edu/Communication-Science-Disorders-Dept]Department of Communication Science & Disorders](http://comm.fsu.edu/Communication-Dept). There is an [advertising major](http://comm.fsu.edu/Communication-Dept/Academic-Programs/Undergraduate-Degrees/Main-campus-majors) within this college.

I suggest you take a look at the various web pages and then figure out what interests you.

For a list of all colleges, schools and other units at FSU here’s a [link to the page](Departments | Florida State University) where they may be found.

Note that some of these programs are [highly competitive](http://comm.fsu.edu/Communication-Dept/Admissions).

Hope this helps!

My s is looking at Comm as well. I went to their presentation at preview.

If you want the business side of advertising (demographics, charts and graphs), go with marketing in the College of Business. If you are looking at the creative side, go with the College of Communications.

They are very competitive. Maybe 40-50 accepted a year. But bear in mind you get “accepted” in your junior year. So back up plans are crucial.

Im looking more towards the creative side since I have a background in computer graphics(iT Program), but I will definitely keep a back up in mind!
