I would really like to work in advertising. However, I want a degree that would allow me to do a broad range of jobs, increasing my chances of finding work. That’s why I applied as a marketing major.

Long time lurker, coming out: Be gentle! :)

I, too, would love any information you can provide on this major. I am especially interested to learn if it would be wise for my DD to minor in a business field.

I have two dd’s. One is a sophomore, happily engrossed at an OOS SEC school as an Education major (takes after her mom!).

The other, a senior, has been accepted at UA, and wants to major in communications/advertising. She was admitted as an OOS student. She is also considering another large school where the chant consists of 4 letters…

We have paid the enrollment fee and the housing deposit----you guys are awesome at providing information! Thank you!

DD’s stats are average:

*Top 8% of class (over 450 students)
*26 ACT
*Unweighted GPA 3.9/weighted 4.1

Thanks to advice we read from Mom2, she is taking the SAT on November 6, in an effort to qualify for a merit scholarship.

Thanks for all the wisdom you’ve provided----my DD and I have both learned SO much from our online friends at CC! :)

Where is your Tennessee VOL spirit??? While wearing orange, VOLS can also be spelled out with your arms. :)

Thanks for your input on advertising. I think right now we are just waiting to see which of these great schools she feels most comfortable with. Hmmmm…crimson or orange??

It certainly is making football season interesting!

Is there a VOLS cheer? I embarassingly admit that while my grad degree is from UT-K, I am an SEC novice and am trying to recover from 4 decades of living in NJ ;)
