Median salary for graduates with BS degree was $ 80,000 with highest offer of $100,000.This does not include sign on bonus. M$ hired 20 students with BS.I hear that M$ made total 57 offers this year at CMU ( this included students from other departments also). CMU is truly a great university that is gaining high reputation with recruiters and has an excellent Computer Science program.

is there any data on employment status 5 or 10 years after graduation?

Tepper's is consistently around a 60k median. It was unmatched for its salary last year. It is now tied for 2nd highest salary among Ugrad Bschools along with Wharton, Stern, and Ross.

Also, the top recruiters at CMU are blue-chip companies, top Wall St, or top 5 Consulting Firms. Therefore, the growth and prestige factor is just as good if not better than the high salaries. Getting into a top MBA program is much easier when you have Ibanking at UBS under your belt (my friend).
