School of Education: what are my chances?

Hi everyone. I’m Italian and I’m working on my grad school applications for some colleges in the US. I will apply to some Schools of Education for Secondary Education programs in Italian.

My background:

Bachelor’s degree with honors at an Italian university
GPA roughly 3.78 (I did the math but I’m confident it will be close to that number)
Licensed ESL teacher from Cambridge University (CELTA)
Certificate of Proficiency in English (still Cambridge University)
About to work for 6 months in Australia as a Language Assistant in an Australian High School

Here’s the colleges I want to apply to:

Hunter College - NY (first choice)
Queens College - NY
Hofstra College - NY

No problem paying for tuition.

What do you think?

First of all this is an UG board. You should post this in th graduate school board

Second. Are you trying to work in New York after graduation? The education degree you get from those schools are New York specific.

Yes. I stayed for two months in NYC last year and during that time I visited the colleges and gathered much of the info I needed about this. I know it’s NYS specific, even though there may be reciprocity with other states.

PS: Sorry, I thought this was the right board!

No worries. This board is designated for all international students - undergraduates, graduates and ESL students alike.

That being said, most of the international students writing here are current or prospective undergraduates. You’ll probably get better answers over in the grad school forums!
