Essays: 1) first slow dance (commonapp); showed how I changed from being shy and awkward to being outgoing and loud 2) related my love of news and extemporaneous speaking to my interest in ILR (supplement); amusing and showed a lot of personality
Teacher recs: 1) English teacher-wrote about how I was a good creative writer and how I had a lot of school spirit. It was personal. 2) Chemistry teacher-didn't read it
