my school only send senior first quarter grades after the EA/ED deadline of Nov 1st. (They send senior grades November 15th). If I apply ED/EA to a school, can I ask my school to send in my updated grades on November 15th? Will my EA/ED school even consider these grades if they are not part of the originally sent in transcript?
I have done well senior year first quarter, so I would really like colleges to see these grades.
Thanks
If you need to improve your GPA or test score for a competitive school, EA/ED is not for you unless the school has very low rejection rate from EA/ED.
its not that I need to improve, I have a 3.88 grades 9-11 but a 4.0 first quarter senior year. I am looking at schools like Cornell, Michigan, Georgia Tech etc. But I would feel more comfortable with sending my first quarter grades. @billcsho
Michigan is fine as they rarely reject but defer EA applicants if not admitted.
Ok good to know, I am going to apply ED to Cornell so I guess I will just have to absorb the loss.
Do you know if I can ask my school to send in my first quarter grades on Nov 15th to all my early schools?
You need to ask your school. My D’s school request a 2 working week processing time. Even for November 1 deadline application, my D needs to submit by mid-October or they would not guarantee processing any support document on time.
