School-organized practice SAT...

My school, with the help of this prep place Revolution SAT prep, is putting together this practice SAT for us tomorrow. They're going to give us scores online, personalized essay feedback, etc...

I signed up, and I'm going to do it, but now I'm starting to wonder how accurate it's going to be, considering that it's not going to be created by the College Board. Think it will be reliable at all, or was it just a waste of $15? Would you do this if you had the opportunity?

I think that it is a great investment, $15 bux is pretty good for taking a live simulated test, even though the test may not be from the College Board

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. At the very least it should at least get me used to taking a boring thing for 3.5 hours.

You sound like a lynbrook student. Have fun wasting $15 and 4 hours. Quite foolish in my opinion.

1 you can time yourself

2 the test is basically a marketing ploy to try get you to register for their prep

3 $15 could buy you the blue book, a much more valuable tool for the sat

Yep, Lynbrook... do you go there too?

I can time myself, but it's hard to motivate myself to spend 4 hours doing that on the weekend (and I do have the BB by the way). Besides, I wouldn't mind their comments on my essay.

In any case, it's too late now-- I already went and did it. It seemed moderately close to real SAT questions, except for a few small things.
