School Profile

It will not be a waste of space on your application to mention any award that YOU were given. Admissions officers are not going to scrutinize a copy of the school profile to see what awards a school gives out, if it is not relevent to the student application they are reviewing. You have to be the one to “toot your own horn”.

trying- you should ask your gc if your HS ranks students- Does your school let colleges you are ranked #1 or #19, etc. or do they let them know which quintile [ top 20%, botton 20% etc.] students with your GPA , SAT’s etc. fall into? Ranking in one form or another is something most colleges WILL ask the GC for, but only about 60% of private HS will provide an actual ranking of the senior class, so you will not be at a disadvantage if your HS does not rank you. That is one thing I see missing from your schools profile. [ My son’s HS specifically mentioned in their profile that they do not rank students, but do provide an quintile % comparision of last year’s senior class]. Another is a specific listing of AP classes offered. Colleges want to know what classes would constitute the "most rigorous course offered " at your HS. The last thing missing is a listing of colleges where prior year’s seniors have matriculated.
