Thanks for sharing this! I haven’t seen OCU ranked in the top ten before, but not surprised at all.
I believe that OCU will continue to rise in the ranks due to their extraordinary faculty and first rate facilities!

Im not sure why OCU is a relative unknown to many families. It is well-known in the theater world and has been considered a top college program for many years. Check out the thread on CC re: number of alums on Broadway. OCU is in the top 10 there as well. They have an incredible number of working alums in the field. But more importantly, it is a great school with great training. And it’s a wonderful place to go to school. I think it may be one of the happiest places I’ve ever been!

I wonder if that spills over to the BFA Acting? My daughter got accepted to that program.

@newmom1 - the BFA Acting program is young so it doesn’t have the track record the MT program does- but they seem to be doing a lot with it. I do know Katie Posotonik who was a BFA acting major is currently the lead in the national tour of Ghost the Musical. And I’m sure there are plenty of other examples of successful acting majors from ocu. also, they are preparing their NYC showcase right now and it’s a mix of mt and acting majors.

Not exactly a ranking but another measure of success: for those who are also interested in vocal performance, OCU has taken 1st place two of the last 3 years in the National Opera Assocoation’s production competition.

@newmom1 - another BFA Acting major (2014) was just cast as Jimmy in the national tour of “Nice Work If You Can Get It”. And the BFA acting students just got home from a trip to England focused on Shakespeare. I do think graduates of this program are doing great things.
