Hi, I’m currently a junior at a prestigious high school in NYC. The classes are all college level curriculum but I really didn’t put in a lot of effort (not doing homework pretty much killed my GPA even though I had A+ test grades). I’m realistically looking at a 3.6 GPA at the end of junior year. I have a 2300 in the SAT (760 in math, 790 in writing, 750 in reading), 730 on US History SAT II, 730 on Latin SAT II, and will be taking math II after I finish pre-calc this year.
Extracurricular:
-Varsity soccer player
-Volunteer at Sloan Kettering Hospital
-Speech team (participated in state championship although that might not mean much)
-Volunteer Coach of the track team for my grammar school
-President of both Soccer Club and Dodgeball Club
Only other thing is that Sophomore year I was diagnosed with both Chron’s disease and Auto-immune hemolytic anemia and have been struggling with that since and intend to use that to my advantage in my personal statement.
Just looking to get some ideas of realistic schools to look at (ones that I’ll have a decent chance at or be competitive for admission to). I’m very interested in attending med school so that’s something to keep in mind.
Any help would be great because I have no idea where I stand. Thanks.
