School Report and Late Recommendations.

I asked my counselor if he could fill out the school report for Stanford. I sent the invitation on 12/20/12. When I scroll down to the section where it has all the counselor forms it says "School Report: Started: 12/21/2012". Does that mean my counselor finished and submitted the school report, or he just started, but didn't finish. My counselor is not available at the time, so I can't contact him right away. Also, how lenient is Stanford, or Common App, with late school forms. One of my teacher has yet to do my recommendation letters. Since the deadline for the application already passed, will they still accept this recommendation letter? If my counselor hasn't yet finished the school report, will they accept that late as well?

Yes. If the status says started, that means that the school report is not yet submitted to any school. Stanford and other schools will be somewhat lenient to the application process materials-- to a point. We’re now a week and a half from the deadline, and they may start getting twitchy at two or three weeks. They’ll take it late, but not too late, so you need to make sure you are on top of everything.

Actually, I have one teacher who submitted a recommendation to several schools for me, and commonapp says the sme thing, “started on x date”, while my other teacher rec says “downloaded by college on x date”. But when I log onto any of the schools’ websites it says that both recommendations have been recieved. I think the commonapp is a bit glitchy.

unless you got this cleared up… I just realized this was posted over a month ago…

good luck with college apps!
