School report- Counselor

I am an international student and I have a problem concerning the School report that is supposed to be completed by a counselor. The problem is that my school does not have any counselor (or any corresponding person). What do you suggest me to do? Should I put a teacher instead of a counselor?
I have been also confused because in the School Official details, I have the choice to chose either a counselor or a teacher... so is it ok if I just choose the latter to complete my school report.
Finally, I have another question; our educational system is different from the US one. For example the courses that a student takes is the same for everybody and the level of the classes are the same. So what should I complete in the corresponding questions? Is there any place in the application where I can explain this situation?

Thank you

i am in the same boat as you, and here's what i did

i asked one of my teachers, who knows about college admissions a little bit, if he would be willing to 'act' as my counsellor. Fortunately, he agreed. That teacher is my English Language teacher as well, so he's doing one of my teacher recommendations as well. But make sure you make it as easy as possible for the person. For example by telling him all about your grades and other activities, and doing the donkey work for him etc

As for the different courses thing, i dont really get what you're talking about. There MUST be some difference in the courses taken by the BEST and the WORST students. I mean, for example, taking an extra subject even if the school doesnt offer one.

Good Luck!

Thank you for your help! That's what I was thinking to do with the counselor. But what did you put in the "School Official Details". Did you choose teacher or counselor? And is there any possibility that I might get in trouble by doing this?

Concerning the courses, it may sound funny but that's the case!!! All students take the same courses. There is no possibility to take an extra course:( The only difference between the best and the worst student can be seen in their grades. Nothing else!

About the courses thing, if that's the case then you should check up if these courses are like 'competitive' compared to students in your pool. And if they are, then i guess you should be fine.

For the details, i just plainly wrote that he is my english teacher. In many international schools, there isnt a 'proper' counsellor so that shouldnt be a big deal. Just be honest in the application, that way you have your back covered.
