school report supplement

My school doesn't fill out specialized school reports to send to colleges. Instead, they have their own version that they send to replace the Common App School Report form or any individual school's form. It's always been accepted in place of these forms in the past, but I'm worried because Pomona has a required school report supplement for the Common App School Report form. My counselor has told me that it shouldn't be an issue and is planning to only send our school's form, Pomona's supplement form says that my application will be incomplete without their school report supplement. I brought this issue up with my counselor. Yesterday was the last time I'll see him before the Jan 2 deadline, and he still isn't seeing a reason to send it. I understand his point of view - he has hundreds of these things to fill out - but I'm worried about how this will affect my chances. What do I do? Should I contact admissions? Do I even have a chance at getting in without this form?

I think the best thing would be to contact an admissions officer and let him/her know your situation. They would probably let you know whether it's ok or whether s/he needs to contact the college counselor directly. If you don't end up sending the supplement Pomona provides, the college will send you a postcard saying they are missing it, which you can then show your college counselor, and then hopefully he will then send the special form out. Hope that helps.

once i get that postcard, though, am i still eligible for admission? because my application won't even be in until after christmas, so i'm kind of pushing the deadline already. how much will the late paperwork hurt my chances?

You still be eligible. Having missing paperwork is very common. It happens for multiple reasons, including the post office losing your mail, so the admissions office generally doesn't blame the applicant. Although I'm not sure, I doubt admissions officers start looking at applications right away after the deadline. For one of my applications, I didn't get something turned in until February (because of my teacher), but they said it'd be fine if I got it in within the next few days without penalty.
