<p>So my counselor gave me to see the School Report today. Besides the objective stuffs(Class rank, GPA, etc.), I find what he wrote and the cases he ticked about me were a little bit unfair to me when I compared mine to another friend's. He doesn't know me that well(any student for that matter) so I feel like the information he's sending out to the universities are misrepresenting me and I feel his recommendation has no basis. I fear the schools that I'm applying will think I am an incompetent student who lacks character while I am not.
So I was wondering how important is this School Report(mostly, the counselor's opinion about me). Can what he put on that School report jeopardize my chances of getting into a good school?</p>
<p>Be happy your counselor showed you the report at all – I think he did this so you could let him know if you want it changed. Why not just tell him?</p>
<p>He chose to do things offline because he “encountered some problems” with Commonapp. So he’s giving the report back to me to send to the schools by post. He is also quite uncooperative and writing this seemed like a burden to him. I’m international and the people here don’t really want kids to study in the US.</p>
