School suggestion for a student w/ SSAT Score of 50 percentile

So, I need your help...
Can you give me some suggestions for an 8th grade applicant, who has scored about 50 percentile on SSAT??? Full Pay, btw. Should he apply for junior boarding school??? Or are there still possible schools?? Need your adive..
He really, really wants to go to a boarding school..

He already applied for the following:
Cushing, Berkshire, NMH, Williston Northhamton...

Time to go to [Boarding School Review](<a href=“Boarding School Search Results”>Boarding School Search Results) and start searching for more schools. Do it one geographical region at a time and go through the list carefully.

There are plenty of good schools that admit applicants with scores in that range - and plenty of those have a Jan 31/early February application deadline (or rolling admissions), so you’re certainly not too late.

Just for starters, I’d take a look at Asheville, Millbrook, Holderness, and Proctor - all of which should still be taking applications and all of which accept the SSAT standard application, I believe - which makes those additional applications a whole lot easier! These four schools all happen to have rather interesting outdoor/extracurricular programs, which is why I mention them. But whether or not they’d work for you depends on your son’s interests.

reinforcing what dodgersmom said, Boarding School Review has a sort school by percentiles thing, i believe.
