<p>Hi, I need advice about colleges. I am going to be either a PoliSci or Economics major.
I have been looking mostly in New England and the Mid-Atlantic (I'm from Long Island, New York). </p>
<p>Stats:
GPA: 3.6 uw, not sure about my weighted gpa
Rank: top 10% out of 330
SAT: 700M, 740CR, 760W (2200,1440)
ACT: 29M, 33E, 33R, 27S, 10/12W, (31 composite score)
SAT II's: US History 740, BiologyM 670, Math I 570, Taking Global History and Math I in October because my math I score was rubbish.
AP: 5 US History, 3 English Comp, 3 Biology. US Gov't and Politics, Macroeconomics, Environmental Science, Calculus AB, and English Literature this year.
AP Scholar</p>
<p>Extracurriculars:
Varsity Golf: 8th-12th grades, captain 12th grade, 4 straight championships, 2 straight undefeated seasons. All-Academic League 10th grade. (JV Golf 7th Grade)
Chamber Orchestra: 8 years, principal bassist for 7 of the 8 years.
Orchestra: 9 years, principal bassist for 8 years.
I plan on sending in a cd with my applications. (Kol Nidrei by Max Bruch)
Jazz Band: 7 years, principal electric bassist for 6 years.
This year I am starting a STAND club in my school (Students Take Action Now Darfur) and I plan on doing a Tent of Hope and leading the club on a trip to Washington DC.
National Honor Society: 3 years, I plan on running for an office this year.
Newspaper Club: Political Correspondent, 12th grade.
Debate Team: 10th grade (the only year the club was offered in my school).
Campaign work for the T.O.B. Democratic Party: Voter IDing etc.</p>
<p>My most important Extracurricular activity is doing work for my local Congressman. I interned for Congressman Israel from 9th-11th grade.
This year I have been doing legislative research for the Congressman about the Genocide in Darfur, and later this fall I will be planning a conference with all of the African-American Clergy and the Congressman in my Congressional District to discuss the Genocide.</p>
