So I'll be a senior next year. Any suggestions for schools? I'm interested in pursuing music (voice) and anthropology. I'm planning on auditioning for a few universities that contain conservatories and applying to some universities with good music programs that don't require an audition. I take the hardest classes at my school (so far AP Calc AB, AP English Lang, and AP Music Theory) and have had all As except for a 90 in calc, which is notoriously difficult at my school. I got a 2180 on the SATs, but my math was pretty low (770 reading, 740 writing, 670 math). I sing in school and church choirs, play the bassoon in band, take lessons on both, take dance lessons, work as a cashier, volunteer at the Franklin Institute, and raise Seeing Eye puppies. I want a school in a city or at least a quirky, fun town. I have a bunch of reach schools but not many matches. Thanks in advance!

Have you considered [Lawrence University](http://www.lawrence.edu/)?

They have a music conservatory and an anthropology major. Lawrence is located in Appleton, WI, obviously not a big city, and I wouldn’t categorize it as “quirky”, but it is a pleasant midwestern town located on Lake Winnebago. Lawrence also operates Björklunden, a 425 acre northern campus on Lake Michigan, that the school uses for seminars and retreats.

Their middle half of accepted students scores between 27 and 31 on the ACT, which is roughly equal to between 1200 and 1400 on the combined CR/M of the SAT. With your 1440 SAT CR/M score you’d be in the top quartile of prospective students. Their admit rate is 66% and yield rate, 26%.

Barnard fits if your a girl

Maybe Skidmore (NY). Best of luck!

Oberlin sounds like a match.

yeah i really like skidmore! i’ve also been thinking about oberlin. i might visit oberlin when i drive out to the midwest next month. it definitely fits what i want in a college!

I’m not sure if you’re looking into bigger schools than the ones mentioned, but if you are open to them, then UMich seems to fit your criteria.

It has an amazing anthropology program, ranked top 5 in the nation and by some measures #1 in the nation, and also has a great music program.
