School Suggestions???

Okay I'm looking for a private school. Location doesn't matter as long as it gets a lot of snow in the winter. Also scholarships and good grant money is needed.

Okay these schools need to be good, but not the best. Nothing close to an ivy.....Admissions should be pretty easy.

Any suggestions???

Syracuse and Boston University come to mind.

Bates, if you are looking at liberal arts colleges. I wouldn't call it easy to get in, but definitely much easier than an Ivy. Also, check out Vassar.

Well, what can you afford? If you are not a GREAT student you will probably have to pay full price, generally $42,000 per year or more. Is that going to happen? If so, how about Skidmore? Hamilton? SUNY Oswego (not an LAC but LOTs of snow and cheap). Hobart and Williams Smth?

Although you said private schools, I would check out some of the SUNYs - Plattsburgh, Oswego, Potsdam, Oneonta, Brockport, Geneseo, ESF at Syracuse. Also, the University of Vermont, Syracuse University, Saint Lawrence University, and Clarkson University.

Kalamazoo, Lawrence, St. Olaf, Grinnell, Allegheny, Hobart&William Smith, Gettysburg, Muhlenburg, Beloit - all are private LACs with good scholarships available and lots of snow.

Although you have suggested private, there are some great publics that ''feel'' like private schools that you could check out. U.Vermont and U.Delaware are great examples of public schools where more than 65% of students come from out of state. University of Pittsburgh is like this as well.

anything in upstate new york is prime for snow. I grew up in Syracuse and belive me ... there'll be plenty of cold white stuff come winter. Other privates in the general area are LeMoyne, Hobart and William Smith, Clarkson, St. Lawrence, Colgate, Hamilton, Vassar, Union, RPI, plus a bunch more that slip my mind at the current moment

What do you want to do in college?
