Hey, I am an entering freshman, and I was wondering what would be the best way to organize my stuff for each of my classes. individual small 3 ring binders? folders? notebooks, 5subject or single? zipper binder? lol this probably petty and I am overthinking but I just wanna be super prepared for high school and would luv to know what you guys do to stay organized and stuff. Also, any other suggestions would be welcome, like study tips, etc. thanx!

I use a folder and two notebooks for each class- one for notes, one for homework. Some teachers have specifics as to whether or not you need a binder. Just use what your comfortable with if they don't have specifics.

HOWEVER, I do recommend the non-paper folders. Spend an extra buck or so and get some heavy duty stuff that won't rip easily when you shove it in your locker. They get beat up pretty easily. I went through new folders every month or so - pain in the ass.

I do something similiar, makeyourself. For each class I have a composition book, a paper folder, and a 1 inch binder (all color coordinated, of course, because I am OCD like that). I carry the composition books and the folders around with me, and keep the binders at home or in my locker. I carry all recent homework and class assignments in my folders and take notes in the composition books. After a test or unit, I put the papers in the binder. The binders and composition books make it easy to review for finals and the like and it makes it easier to carry around 7 subjects of materials. I do have to replace the 49 cent folders every month or so, but that's not bad.

My freshman year, three teachers required binders or notebooks that had to be set up a certain way so I had to ditch my system. However all but one of them stopped checking or requiring it by the 2nd or 3rd quarter.

I just realized how truly anal I am.

It all depends on your preference. I buy a notebook and folder or a binder for each class, depending on how much I think I'll need to write/store.

This year, though, I bought this folder that has like 10 pockets. This should help.

Durability is key. Spend the extra cash for a good folder and binders, it pays off in the long run.

you'll get to class and see what works for you. Some like clutter, some are anal, most find something that suits them inbetween

I NEVER use binders hahah cuz I find them inconveniently big. I just use duotangs for like each unit in a course. So for each course, I have about 5 duotangs per year. At the end of the year, I just organize all the key notes into one duotang, and just study that.

It works incredibly well for me! =P

I used those 1-1.5" binders (one for each class) with dividers and looseleaf. I also had a folder that I carried with me to each class and I would put all of my homework assignments in that folder to take home (easier than carrying an entire binder). Some of my friends started the year off with one big zipper binder for all their classes, but it ended up getting too big/heavy to bring home every night. Plus, if they dropped it accidentally, it was a pain to reorganize all of the papers.

Last year I had folders for all my subjects. A different folder per subject. I got those nice plastic folders.

I hate zipper binders. I hate those accodion file folders. I hate them.

The file folders.... lol. I think those are great for storage, not carrying around. Er- no offense to anyone that uses them. =)

I usually end up with one big folder full of loose papers and one big spiral notebook with perforated pages. I'm not the most organized person in the world ;)

I hate perforated edges. They don't tear right and whenever you don't want them to tear, they do tear. Bceause you accidentally didn't close thes piral perfectoly or whatever gay reason. Then you got half of a page attached and the other half ripped and poking out the sides and ****.

i use loose refil and a binder for english and biology. for everything else I use a hardcover notebook.

HIGHLIGHTERS!!! those are the best. I went stationary shopping and bought blue, purple, pink, green and yellow highlighters.

And buy nice grippy pens. I like those 0.7mm ball point pens. I hate ink pens. And I got pretty pens! They make me write neat. And I love them. Green, blue, red, black.. (yeah... all of the same brand)

And a pretty pencil case!

And I have noticed that all the smart students carry these little notebooks to write their homework pages, info, etc.. in them! And so I copied them and bought one. And I check them every night to see if I am all ready for the next day and stuff.
