School supplies

Did you get any new school supplies? If so, what?

Just pens, pencils, paper, a few folders and that's it right?

Precisely - you don't need anything that you haven't already used in high school. Tip: if you can hold out for a month, don't buy anything from the UCLA Store until the last Wednesday of October, because they have a Hallowe'en week sale where almost everything is 25-40% off on that day.

will my 20% (?) coupon from orientation stack on top of the sale prices? :D

That coupon expires on 10/12/05 (I'm assuming you're talking about the ASUCLA postcard/calendar/coupon thing they were handing out)

....and it says "No other discounts apply" =(

we had a 20% off coupon from orientation? WHERE!?!

edit: oh now i remember.. i think that coupon was only applicable towards BearWear

oh. didnt read the fine print (heck, i forgot where i even put it :p).

I always loved walking into Office Max or Office Depot and picking up their custom made list of supplies you needed for elementary/middle/high school. They always filled up an entire front sheet at least, and were always a riot.

i love crayola crayons. they were the best. i missed those crayons now. :)

I used to be so exicted on the first day of school when the teacher would give me a brand new box of Crayola's. That was always an exciting time!

uh... i never used sheets of lined paper in college. ever.

everything was either typed for printing or was written in notebooks.

i still have all my unopened packs of sheet lined paper.

what kind of notebook do u suggest us bring? spiral or non spiral?

That's all just a matter of personal preference. Personally, I hate those weakly bound nonspiral notebooks when I'm taking notes in them for the quarter since they usually fall apart midway through w/ sheets coming out left and right.

i also prefer the spiral-bound...

but you've probably been taking notes for like the past 12 years right? you should know which one you like more...

...or not LOL

another thing. should we bring our own waste basket? and where do we empty out our trash? is there a day where a mini garbage truck will come through the doorways and collect our garbage? ;) that'd be cool.

Waste baskets are provided. There should be a trash chute on each floor where you can dump your trash at. It'd be nice to have a mini garbage truck go through though.

oh cool. thanks
