School Supply List

Since I noticed many of us have a fettish for school/office supplies I'm curious what everyne buys to prep themselves for the year.

For me I usually get
Pentel RSVP Medium pens in lack red and blue (debate has taught me to choose a favorite pen)
Mechanical Pencils
New Binder
Loose Leaf Paper
Notebooks
Colored Pencils
Index Cards
Post-It Notes

and whatever I need for certain classes

How about you?

Loose-leaf paper (COLLEGE RULED, NOT WIDE RULED :))
Pens (Pentel FTW)
Pencils (not Mechanical pencils)
Notebooks/Binders (can never decide which one is better)
Dividers and tab stickers to write on
...
and I think that's it

I didn't buy anything for this new year. I'm just using all the random crap I've accumulated over the years (I'm a senior now).

I hate wide-ruled paper. I wish US notebook paper were bigger. Maybe I'll see if I can find a pad of bigger paper for school. I hardly ever turn anything in to teachers on notebook paper anyway, so I should buy what satisfies me.

I usually buy gel pens, and every year, they're all used up by November. So this year I'm buying ball-point pens. You know, those cheap ones. They last so much longer. As a chronic cursive writer, I use a fair amount of ink.

I have post-it notes growing out my ears, so I'm not buying any of those this year. I usually wait until after school starts to buy some things, because my teachers always have random requirements that I don't find out until then.

^ Why not try (legal sized) legal pads? I hate wide ruled too.

Uhg. I forgot I have to get a new calculator this year. Mine is to simple for Algebra II.

I get almost all my school supplies from walmart :p
Jansport backpack (getting a new one this year. i want a superbreak one with at least 1550cu approx. $30-50)
Papermate mechanical pencils (the clearpoint ones. i might get the phd one this year :D)
150-sheet college-ruled paper (2-3 packets)
3x5 Notecards (with lines on the back)
2" Binder (the clear ones. i like the "onetouch" binders)
Dividers (5 subject, the ones with different colored translucent tabs)
Pens (ballpoint; blue, black, and red)
Highlighters (yellow, blue, pink, green, etc.)
Colored Pencils (24 pack)
Post-It flags
Calculator (i want the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition approx. $100+)
Stapler and Stapler remover
and a LOT of extra things.

as you can tell, im a school supply freak.

I don't bother with buying nice backpacks, since I'm rough on them for some reason, and my school doesn't allow us to carry them around during the day. So I just buy something in which I can throw my books and go home.

I actually have a word processor huge list of things, but it's a big much to post. I love school supply shopping.

Oh and I want that calculator too, although i can't afford it.

Notebooks(4-5)
Binder(2-3)
Regular Pencils
Blank paper
Black Pens
Ti-89 Titanium Edition

Is anyone thinking of buying the N-Spire? I saw it in the store the other day for the first time. I personally have no interest in learning how to use a new calculator for my senior year, but I was wondering if anyone else has it.

I love school supplies!

I'm getting

-Notebooks
-One inch binders
-A boatload of college-rule paper
-Papermate mechanical pencils, the really expensive yet amazing ones
-Lead
-The most expensive calculator (it's about three years past upgrade time) I can convince my mom I need
-Pens (I'm very particular about these, I have to assess each pack and have yet to find a brand I'm committed to)
-Dividers
-Agenda, hate the school ones

I bought:
Special Pencils
A text-book cover
A one subject notebook

I have everything else I need for 1st semester.

Correct my if I'm wrong but the N-Spire doesn't support Ti-BASIC, while the ti-89 does. And the Ti-89 has CAS built in as well.

What's the best graphing calculator (that would probably be sold on Craigslist) to get?

Well according to most Ti-89 titanium is the best as there are thousands of programs you can download do do a variety of things and it has built in CAS which can solve nasty integrals on the go. But be forewarned many teacher will outright not allow you to use the Ti-89 as they are very powerful.

Is it allowed on the SAT/PSAT/etc.?

yes, but not on the ACT(though its kind of pointless for SAT/PSAT)

Ha, I meant ACT. Thanks. Oh well.

The highest allowed on the ACT is the TI-84. Well, maybe they allow the TI-86 too, but I've never heard of any high school students using that one.

Oh ok. Thanks. Just had to check! :)
