School Swap + or -

I just finished my Sophomore year in high school (standard 6 period schedule) and my family just moved houses into a different school's boundary. The other school is on a 4x4 block schedule. I'm currently involved in major roles in everything and in great standing at my current school. Is it worth it to go to the new school by new home or commute to the other school everyday? Will the switch affect my admissions negatively? I will have to give up about 5 leadership roles and restart. Is this bad? Will having more classes be better?

Please help me!

How far away is the old school from your new home?

What would you think of taking for your two extra classes?

It’s about 45 minutes away. I’d take additional math and science classes.

I think that an extra 1.5 hours a day, plus the opportunity to take extra classes in the subjects you like, is enough to justify making new connections at the new school. Can you go tour the new school, maybe shadow a current student and decide if you might like it?

I’ve already toured it and love the campus. They don’t offer any shadowing in the school district, but I’ve heard some great things. I know a few students there from sports when I was very little. Im meeting with a counselor there on monday to talk about entering their student government (I’m very well connected with local government and businesses-they need that). Thank you for your help!!! I really appreciate it
