"Students will face mandatory testing for drugs and also alcohol this school year, at one northwest [Chicago] suburban high school. Concerns about underage drinking prompted St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights to add alcohol to its random drug test policy."

It’s constitutional. It’s a private school and if the kids or their parents don’t want to have a random drug test, they can transfer to a public or another private school.

CBC in St. Louis also tests as does Rockhurst Jesuit in Kansas City (starting this year). Random at Rockhurst but they will test 100% of student body the 1st week of class. Both schools are private - if you don’t like it go somewhere else is the schools’ attitude.

Either claim that you consume alcohol for religious purposes. (Such as in the Catholic Church)

OR

Get the parents to say that the student drank at home under their supervision, which, contrary to popular belief, is legal in almost every state.

I feel like that school is going to be seeing a lot of guys rocking the bald look…

But yeah seriously it’s easy to explain away. As someone else mentioned, its legal to drink for religious purposes or with your parents at home. Heck in Wisconsin it’s even legal to drink underage at a bar or restaurant as long as your parent buys the drinks and remains with you at all times! And not to mention, many parents, mine included, have no problem with their teenagers having a glass of wine at a nice dinner or for a special occasion such as a wedding! This school is just going overboard haha
