I am a Vietnamese student, and in our country high school starts from 10th grade. Therefore, do I need to submit the transcript of 9th grade also?

bumppp anyone??

Short answer yes
Long answer, ask the admission office of the university. However I feel that you have to send the 9th grade transcript too.

yes

10char

okay, so I guess I have to go all the way back to my secondary school :(

This is a very country-specific question and I’m not sure the answers above are tailored to your situation. Your 9th grade classes might not be important for US college admissions. Is there anyone you can ask who is familiar both with your education system and the US admissions process?

unfortunately, no. There is nobody here for me to consult at all

You might try posting again in the international students forum on this site to see if anyone more knowledgeable about Vietnam’s system will respond. You also might try asking an admissions representative from a college where you plan to apply.

I expect that the reason you are being advised by posters above to submit your 9th grade transcript is because typically US students apply in fall of 12th grade and submit transcripts from 9th through 11th grade.
