School Trips To Foreign Countries

Ever been on one?

I just got back from 10 days in Japan with 10 students and two teachers :D Best time of my life ever. Also made Uniqlo like my favorite clothing store. We went to like four of them during our time there.

That’s pretty cool! I’ve always wanted to learn Japanese, and live in Japan for a year or two. My social studies teacher has been there, and said it was a great place.

Next year I’m going on a trip to Spain/North Morocco with the school’s Spanish Club. 30-40 kids are going, but only a few freshman, since not many freshman join the club. It should be interesting.

Our school isn’t allowed to have out-of-country trips. We rarely even have any out-of-state trips, lol.

I went to the UK over spring break last year with 19 other students and 2 teachers as part of a foreign-exchange trip. It was amazing. I saw so many cool things, the best of which were Big Ben and the castle they based Hogwarts off of.

Other trips include France, Germany, and Costa Rica.

One of my old schools did a 10 day trip to Europe with EF Tours and it was absolutely amazing. It was definitely one of the best experiences of my life.

Considered going on a tour of Europe with a school group but had to back out because I will be gone traveling when they leave.

I do have a friend who just got back from a trip to Austria with her school choir. They had been invited to perform over their spring break. The experience sounded incredible.

My school goes overboard with trips. This year alone we’ve had or are having: Spain, Italy, Japan and China.

On a rather unrelated note, I love Uniqlo. It’s refreshing to see a clothing company’s male line to actually be good for once.

Our PUBLIC school goes overboard as well. This summer there’s three, one is to Europe, including London where they’ll get to go to a few Olympic events, Berlin, and Paris. Another is to the South Pacific including Australia and Fiji, and a third is to Belize. They’re all hella-expensive, and while someone who has just graduated can technically go, I think it would feel weird.

I’m in the same boat as Pippa. Ours was 9 days, but definitely the best experience of my life.

It’s a bit easier for us, as mainland europe is only 4 hours away, so last year I went on a spanish trip to Santander for 4 days and a battlefields trip to Ypres, Belgium for 3 days. In Otober I’m going to Greece for a classics trip, so excited!
There was also the oppurtuntity to go to Berlin on a history trip, but the places were limited and I was chosen randomly to not get a place :frowning:
The History trip to Belgium was the most amazing thing I’ve ever done, and has really converted me into a history-lover. If any of you get the chance to visit Ypres, or any of the other WW1 battlefields, take it!
Unfortunetly, the law permits only 2 days off school per trip, which limits us to 4 days including the weekend. And so jealous of a school trip including Olympic tickets! They were almost impossible to get if you live here, let alone going with school.

Yea I signed up for tickets and didn’t get any.

My school has zero field trips. (May or may not be courtesy of budget cuts- I don’t think we had any to begin with.) Looking to go on a School Year Abroad junior year, though.
