Who here has to wear school uniform? Do you like it? Hate it? What are your school colours? Other opinions?

I go to a Catholic school and our uniforms are not bad, I guess. We have to wear dark blue, red, and white kilt, along with a collared polo shirt or dress shirt with tie. Our school colours are blue and red. Knee highs. Black dress shoes and if we want to wear the school scrunchie (girls) we could. We also have the chance to wear grey pants. Sometimes I like it but it's mandatory so I have no choice!

We have uniforms too (also Catholic ie: Holy Spirit). We are blue and gold, but our uniform colors only reflect the blue... (and a little red). Black dress shoes are mandatory for us guys, but girls can wear Uggs too, if they are balck. I don't really know if I like them because I am a freshmen, but I guess I will find out.....

I wouldn't mind them though, cause all the other high schools that have uniforms in the county just wear polo shirts and jeans which I wear alot.

Our school district recently adopted a "dress code" to curb gang violence. Worst part I don't live anywhere near a major city, regardless this dress code includes polos and dress pants only. Although we have freedom to choose the color. I really don't think I'm going to mind it because I wear polos a lot and dress pants shouldn't be to bad.

i know about the gang violence thing one time at my old school my principal called in some hispanic and african americans(basically being very racist..) that were wearing Pink shirts supposably it is a gang color....I spoke to some of the called in people...and i was like ***? Thats just wrong! I have a very similar to Yoshis dress code but i go to private school and its a little more stricter: I have to wear Chinos..tan or navy blue w/ Polo or button downs(most people wear Polos only) in light blue navy blue yellow or white

the people at my school are really gangster. the school board is too afraid to implement a dress policy because they are afraid to get jumped by me and my dawg fiddy.. ..joke... but it is like that here in piscataway, nj

yeah i go to an all-girls Catholic school, we have a uniform. i think it's mildly cute lol actually our skirt (not exactly our skirt but same pattern and pleats etc) was in the jcrew catalog a few times.

we have to buy all of this through the uniform company, it can't be from like random stores: it's a white oxford blouse, navy blue & green pleated skirt, and navy blue knee socks (or white crew length socks). you can also get a navy or dark green sweater, or if you play a sport you can buy one of the green sweatshirts through the school and wear it.
for shoes we can wear basically whatever we want as long as they're not sneakers, sandals or boots. and they can't be backless or a ridiculous pattern or color.
on days we have chapel we have to wear our white sweaters which are ugly.

our school colors are green, white, and gold

The middle school I was supposed to go to got uniforms the year I would start going there, so I went to a school about 5x further away.
I always think, "What if I had sucked it up and gone there?" My life would be completely different-diff. high school, diff. friends/teachers-I probably wouldn't even be on CC right now! :X

I live in probably the last place to ever be likely to require uniforms. I can just imagine the uproar from students, parents and the community if they tried to, lol. I don't think they're that bad, but I would be very angry if I had to wear a uniform all day and it was uncomfortable. If you don't want me wearing my "hugs not drugs" shirt fine, but don't make me deal with uncomfy shoes and itchy sweaters.

Yea, unwritten, I did.
There were two middle schools in my area, one of which isn't that great of a school, and the other decided to start having uniforms. Part of the decision was financial because we would have to buy a whole set of uniform clothes, as opposed to just wearing what I always had. However, I mainly just didn't want to look the same as everyone, as the uniform code left very little room-if any-for different colors/styles/accessories.

It wasn't just me, three or four of my closest friends came with me to the other school, making somewhere just less than 10 total from my elementary school. The fact that it was further away and out of our area were soon forgotten.

I go to a Catholic school, so uniforms are a part of daily life. Free dress days are on Fridays, so I really don't care. Besides, we have over 40 combinations with our uniforms. Just mix and match, and you're set. :)

Yes I do! But I'm in England, so everybody does lol. Ours is fairly bad, not to mention expensive, as there is summer, winter and dress uniform to buy. But I always feel glad tht I'm not at Christ's Hospital like one of my friends - google it and you'll see why.

I go to a catholic as well...our dress code is pretty good actually (polo shirt and jeans or shorts). The best part about our dress code is how lenient the rules on the girls skirts are (even more lenient than public school) so as a guy I think that's awesome!
