School with most MIT acceptances?

So which high school had the most MIT acceptances? You think you beat mine?

Mine had 8. I bet people won't believe me.

Dude, no way. I call ■■■■■.

OH MY GOSH! You said I’d say that! No wonder your school gets so many in. You guys are smart.

torrey pines hs in san diego has at least 8

Lynbrook High in Northern California has 12, or so I hear.

I’m guessing Thomas Jefferson or some similar school had the most admits though.

It’s probably a triple function of how competitive, how math-science oriented, and how large your school is.

gesshhhhh…

next time some 9th grader starts an annoying " how do I get into HYPMS" thread, I’ll just respond with TRANSFER TO LYNBROOK HIGH

Bergen Academies has a bunch, but I think it has subsets of schooling or something.
Montgomery Blair has a few. My mother’s from MD so she was telling me all about it.
Exeter and Stuy, but who doesn’t expect that.

I noticed a school that has an amazing quiz team, always beasts us at NAQT finals in Chicago, with three. Unless I’m mixing up two schools.

7 from my school that I know of (and there may be more). we average about 8

Mine had 7–8. (Our class size is ≈150.)

TJ in Northern Virginia (which is not where I went, but I know several people from there) always has a sizable crowd.

Definitely TJ, I heard one year they had 25 people get in…

Bergen Catholic High School
Oradell, New Jersey

2 applicants, 2 waitlisted

Let’s gooo :p

My school is a technical high school ranked 30 something in the whole nation and this year we had zero students get accepted to MIT.

2 accepted, 2 rejected

Might I suggest that you need to include the size of your school for these numbers to have any meaning. And, of course, it would be best to know how many kids applied!

The places who send a ton to MIT tend to be magnet schools that draw excellent students from a large geographical area. So it’s no mystery.

No one’s mentioned Montgomery Blair in Maryland? I’ve heard numbers like 25 being thrown around for the yearly MIT acceptance count (not rate) from Blair.

I know that at least 2 people made it in from my school, maybe even more. My school is pretty huge and only 2 kinda isn’t really good. But then again, the salutatorian got rejected… Anyways, its not that surprising that 8 kids got into MIT – your school must be good=D. I heard last year that some school (Stuyvesant) got 30-something kids into Harvard…

Yea, I know for sure that Torrey Pines High School in So. Cal had at least 8 acceptances. It is not a magnet school…just a public school.

It’s definitely Thomas Jefferson HS for Sci + Tech
25 last year and a similar amount this year
