School year so far...

All you have to do is write down your classes and what you think about them. Just how you like about this year.

My final schedule(after getting it changed SO many times):

AP Calculus AB- I really like this class! It's not super hard, and it's college credit! Calculus I is better than nothing, I guess. The teacher is pretty awesome. He tries to change up class for each learning style. There is this annoying girl in the class though. She asks really dumb questions, but I guess we all have to learn.

AP Bio- It's fun, I guess. I realized that I don't like science as much as I used to, but it's fine. The teacher isn't too fun, and most of the information is shear memorization, but biology isn't too hard.

AP Human Geo- I have no words. It's easy, but the information is boring so far. I'm not much of a humanities person..

Advanced Theater- I LOVE acting. It's so fun. It's a great class to finish the day with.

AP Gov: biggest joke of my life, even though the subject matter is actually really interesting.

AP Physics: workload of three classes, but I’m managing. We’re just wrapping up Newton’s laws.

AP English Lit: like it, but it’s made me realize that in no way do I think like an English major. At all.

AP Spanish: second biggest joke of my life, after AP Gov. All we ever do is watch The Simpsons and talk about our weekends.

Honors Music Theory: really easy so far-- we’re going over pretty basic stuff, but hopefully it’ll pick up soon

Honors Theology: For the first time in three years, I’m not just being spoon-fed religious beliefs, so I like that.

Mythology: one of my favorite classes by far. There’s not a lot of homework, but we get to read really interesting stories from all different cultures and make connections.

Concert orchestra= naturally the easiest class
APUSH= pretty easy, then again history courses are the easiest
Honors Chem= harder than I thought, though I have a really horrible teacher. Currently have a b in this
Tech= I hate tech, it’s useless for someone like me, and I don’t know why it’s a full year requirement. Plus the possibility of sawing my fingers off sucks too
Honors French 5: annoying, it’s not supposed to be hard, but my teacher makes us start the AP French curriculum
Honors algebra 2: it’s okay, math isn’t my forte
Honors English: English in general bores me, especially the book we’re currently reading. my English teacher makes the class, he’s hilarious and super innapropriate

Spanish 3: Parental units forced me into this class. It requires having paid attention/not Google-translated 90% of Spanish 2 HW/having completed the optional summer work packet to have an A right now. Harder than expected, but as I want to study communications/journalism, it doesn’t hurt either. Now if only I actually understood enough Spanish to answer questions…

AP Chem: Hard, yes, but actually a lot of fun. My smallest class, and I get along with roughly 1/2 the kids in the class. Of course, of the kids in the class, I probably have one of the lower (if not the lowest) grade in the class, but I’m enjoying it.

AP Psych: Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. Alternate names include “my daily get English HW done and/or nap class” and “AP Movie Watching/Psychoanalyzing.” My teacher was my APUSH teacher last year, and he’s a coffee-addicted maniac convinced the Dutch mafia is after him and that the Browns will win a Super Bowl (or the Indians a World Series) in his lifetime. So there’s that.

Honors English 11: My favorite subject, and my teacher’s really nice, even though the material itself is rather difficult. Perks include having four friends in the class and no assigned seats. We’re currently reading and researching The Canterbury Tales, which has actually been pretty interesting.

Honors Pre-Calculus: You know the class is a struggle when the two smartest kids in the class don’t have a clue what’s going on. REALLY fast paced, and after much debate between this and switching down to Honors Algebra 2, I’ve decided to risk it and stick with the class at least until the end of the semester.

Religion 11: Harder than I expected, and a lot more discussion-based. So far, we have a bit of a divide between the more “fundamentalist” Catholics (about a fifth of the kids) and the more “skeptical” kids (about a third to half the class). Everyone else just stays quiet, as it’s the last period of the day and they’re tired.

Also, there’s a study hall in between pre-calculus and religion, as well as lunch in between English and pre-calculus.

Biology - teacher is cool, and it seems really easy
Physics - Pretty fun, kinda challenging too. Not much homework
AP Comp Sci - Teacher doesn’t really know what hes doing, hasn’t taughtus anything yet making it easyy to get stuck in the textbook, and 7 pop quizzes in 3 weeks :-q
AP Calc BC - So far easier than I expected, pre-calc really prepares you. Quizzes somewhat hard and quite alot of homework
US History - the class is a joke, no homework, and the teacher gives you the answers to the quizzes before you take them
Honors LA 10 - The tests are real hard, and we never get anything back. I have to study alot in that class

Acc. Pre-Calc- Same teacher as last year, not as fun as last year though, probably because its 1st period instead of 5th. Algebra 2 was better

AP Chemistry- Pretty easy so far since we don’t really do anything or have much homework. We haven’t learned anything new yet.

Spanish 2- Easy just like last year but there’s a participation grade and I’m bad at participation

PE2- Easier than PE1 but I have a B. It’s graded on participation and I participate so the teacher must just hate me.

AP English Language and Composition- Pretty good so far, the teacher is giving me 8’s and 9’s on my essays and they’re not even that good. She must not hate me for some strange reason.

AP World History- Most fun class, good end to the day, teacher is very energetic and fun and a bit crazy. Only problem is all the homework.

CP U.S History - Class is easy, but I like listening to the teacher. He’s really knowledgeable and funny.

CP Chemistry - For the first month, our teacher was on maternity leave and the sub was god awful. Our actual teacher looked over our quiz grades and had to correct all the mistakes the sub made. I’ve never heard a bad thing about her, and she seems like a great teacher. We haven’t really done anything new yet, but we will starting this week thankfully.

Trig - There’s only 5 people in my class including me, so it’s fun. I also like the teacher and math

Honors English 2 - All we do is take vocab tests and talk about the book we’re reading, and current events. I kinda hope he actually helps us improve our writing and teaches us, instead of just tersely criticizing it in red ink.

Principles of Engineering - same teacher as the Trig teacher, class is great other than the, erm, not nice or mature person I have to work with. We just kind of work and figure things out independently, which is nice.

Spanish 3 - I’m the only sophomore, which is fine, but the teacher is such a moron. We’re in this culture of Spain unit, and she wants every answer to be word for word, and to include unnecessary details that isn’t asked for in the question itself. Testing out of Spanish 4 next year, if I’m told what vocab and culture + history to study for the test.

Pre-calculus - This class is fun too. The teacher is great and really logical but goofy. Plus I like math

CP Biology - Boring as crap. The teacher is our 8th grade science teacher, and she hasn’t changed a bit. Also some pretty stupid people in the class. Terrible class to have at the end of the day; the boredom makes me tired, which makes me not wanna do anything after.

Honors Precalc: Math is easy for me and I think my teacher loves me, but they don’t give partial credits and I make a lot of silly mistakes.

Honors English: I love the people in my group, and the class is pretty fun too. I hope we get to do some creative writing assignments, as my teacher is also the creative writing teacher.

World History: I have 103% in this class. I think that’s probably enough said; but my teacher is really sassy and the class is pretty easy (perks of there being no alternative to a CP class).

Spanish 3: I actually have to do work this year. Like what? For the past two years, Spanish has been my easiest class, and now I’m actually learning stuff (and I actually have to try).

Engineering Design: Great class, horrible teacher. He’s really rude and doesn’t answer questions outside of classtime unless it’s after school (not even during read period). And if you have a seventh period, well, sorry.

Honors Chemistry: My teacher is so anal. His class requires utmost precision, and if you even get the date wrong, you get a point off on your assignment. Concepts-wise, this class is pretty easy, though.

Marching Band/Colorguard: This is actually really fun, although parades are really annoying (we have one this Saturday; our costumes are long sleeved, it’s going to be 95 degrees outside, and we’ll be dancing). Also, it’s super hot outside all the time when we’re practicing; I think my skin is three shades darker than it was when school began.

AP Biology: My favorite class so far–to be expected, really, considering my love for the subject. It’s pretty fast paced, though.

AP Stats: Way easier than calculus.

Honors English Literature: Interesting but boring class. Awesome teacher! We’re currently reading Macbeth.

Honors Government : Same as English Lit. I have over a 100% because of an abundance of extra credit.

DE Latin- Great class; teacher is extremely passionate about the language and culture. One of my favorites this semester.

DE Composition- Standard writing class. Not my forte, but I’m managing it well. It’s an online course, though, so I don’t receive formal instruction.

DE Calculus-based Physics: Hell incarnate. Seriously. I spend so much time trying to study for this class. My attempts are fruitless. Quality over quantity, I know, but… I just can’t. I’m probably going to drop this and save it for next semester when I’m less stressed.

AP Literature: Absolutely hilarious teacher - she’s really sarcastic. She once referred to her unborn child as a “parasitic fetus.” So yeah. But only about 3 other people actually do the readings, so almost nobody does well on the timed writings or class discussions.

Jazz Band: Fun class. Mostly just playing jazz. As a band. Almost like a jazz band.

AP Chemistry: Intense stuff, but its going at just the right pace. The teacher is a total goofball. Among his many exploits are lighting his hands on fire, faking a heart attack, and freezing/smashing his “finger” off.

AP Physics C: Hahahahahaha. Only four people in the class have any calc experience. The same goes for physics experience. I am doing alright, but the others… Some are still taking pre-calc.

AP US Government Block: A decent enough class. We’re going a bit slow, but the teacher is on top of things.

AP Macroeconomics Block: Wut. We did three chapters in the entire first quarter. And the teacher spends most of his time railing against the government, extolling the virtues of free enterprise. He also brings up religion constantly. He’s an okay guy, but a bunch of people are struggling.

AP Calculus BC: My smallest class, with just seven people and a TA. We’re all friends in that class, and have had the same teacher since 10th grade. Great class.

TA: Greatest class of all time
AP Psychology: It started off fun, but now it’s pretty boring. I use this class to do homework
AP Calc AB: I only do my homework 5 minutes before it’s collected and I don’t pay much attention in class. It’s pretty fun.
AP English Language: Easily my most fun class. The only English class I’ve ever enjoyed going to.
AP US History: Easy and boring
AP Physics 1: I don’t know what we do in class. I’m pretty sure my teacher is a stoner, but at least he’s funny.

AP Chemistry - So far, most of the material has been repeated from my pre-AP chemistry class. Chemistry was always my least favorite of the high school science trio.

AP English Language and Composition - Interesting reading material so far, and great writing assignments. Not my favorite subject, though.

AP Studio Art: 2D Design - I’ve learned a lot of photographic theory so far, but I haven’t made much progress on my portfolio.

Astronomy - Pretty interesting stuff. Currently working on using astronomical data available in the 1600s to support heliocentrism.

Computer Science with Theory - Incredible class using MIT’s CLRS textbook. I love this stuff.

DE Calculus-Based Physics - Pointlessly easy class w/ required attendance. I’m wasting six hours/week on attendance alone.

DE Differential Equations - Interesting at first, but moving slowly and re-covering lots of stuff from my AP Calculus BC class.

Study Hall: A much needed break from the rest of my classes. Half the time is spent playing Halo and talking with friends, and the other half is doing all my homework that is due the next day. Unfortunately, my school is planning to get rid of all study halls in a few week, which sucks because this period is extremely valuable.

AP Calculus: A lot of work, but manageable. I did poorly on my last quiz, but I still have an A in the class. I have a love-hate relationship with my teacher, but it’s so funny when she takes shots at the kids who sit around and don’t do anything in class.

IB Physics SL: Definitely my hardest class. No one understands what the teacher is talking about most of the time, and the problem sets he gives us for homework are really difficult.

IB Biology HL II: Most classes devolve into talking about Clash of Clans strategies. I like the teacher, but she lets everyone do what they want, so very little work actually gets done. We didn’t get through everything we needed to last year, so we’re falling further and further behind where we should be. .

TOK: Basically a study hall right now; we’re just working on our extended essays. I didn’t like how she taught TOK last year, so I hope we don’t have the same problems this year.

IB History of the Americas HL II: I learn the most in the class, even though the teacher blatantly rips everything off from the internet. We haven’t received any assignments back, so I have no idea how he grades things.

IB Spanish SL:The teacher had an emergency surgery at the beginning of September, and the substitute doesn’t know how to speak Spanish. For the first few weeks, we just played games, but now we’re actually doing work. Most kids are worried about not being prepared for the IB exam, but I’m not.

IB English HL II: She’s probably my favorite teacher, and I’m one of her favorite students because I got the highest grade on both summer reading assignments. We haven’t done much in the class, but we have been doing since then, but we’ve been doing oral presentations since last week. The first group took over 3 hours to present, and the second group is on pace to go that long, so I have no idea when my group will go since we’re last. I currently have a solid A in the class despite doing poorly on a quiz.

AP Stat: Pretty easy, especially compared to calc. Except I have a B in the class…

Econ: Easiest class. The people in the class though… Not exactly enjoying that class.

Wind Ensemble: Pretty fun. We’re playing challenging music. It’s the first year that this class is offered so it’s exciting.

AP Biology: As a senior who took many AP classes, this class is not as hard as I thought it was going to be. It’s easier than AP Chemistry, but so much more tedious. There are so much more tests and quizzes and the teacher actually reads the lab notebooks, unlike last year in AP Chem.

AP Calc BC: Teacher is so funny and random. Doesn’t even teach. We have to grade homework from his regular calculus and algebra classes. After taking Calc AB last year (and having the hardest teacher at our school), this class is a breeze. We already took two quizzes and I still currently have a solid A in the class. It’s funny because my grade in this class is higher than my grade in Stat right now.

AP English Literature: The class is alright. I like the students in the class. The essays are hard though, mostly because I am not very good at writing timed essays.

Piano and Electric Keyboard: This class is so easy since I already play the piano, but not many people are taking it. I’m starting to wish I chose something with a friend :<

AP Human Geography: It’s pretty easy, but there’s a lot of homework. Well, the homework is easy and doesn’t take long, but there’s homework every night. I got a 73 on the first test, so hopefully I can bring my grade up to an A xD

Honors Geometry: I miss when I had this class 1st period, since that class was smaller and I actually knew people in my class (I literally only know 1 person now and we don’t talk at all; she went to my school last year). It’s really easy but there’s a LOT of homework, and I don’t even do it usually, I’m like 3 days behind everyone else in assignments.

Biology: This class is pretty easy, since it’s not honors. I like the teacher, and she likes me since I’m in Science Olympiad xD She always writes comments on my answers :stuck_out_tongue:

French 1: I don’t like the class itself, but I like the people. The teacher is really unorganized, she lost my quiz once and apparently I have a 0 for an assignment I turned in.

Honors English 9: This class is so overcrowded, there’s 36 people OO She grades our essays really hard too, I got an 85 on a paper I thought I did well on. Now I have a B in the class ><

Honors Algebra 2: Probably my favorite class. The teacher really wants us to learn, and the people are a lot more mature. I have an A- because I didn’t do most of my homework xD

AP Lang: Quizzes and tests are rough and this class is my lowest grade right now, but my teacher allows test corrections, so hoping that my grade will spike up when I hand those in. I’m actually really liking the books we’re reading!

Calc H: The teacher intimidates me a little, and I miss the confidence I had in math last year (a lot).

APUSH: Surprisingly not that bad. I had a test today, and dare I say I think I actually did pretty well…hopefully in the 90s. The class average is always somewhere in the 60s, haha. WAY more interesting than WHAP last year.

Spanish H: Actually my hardest class right now, ugh. Quizzes and tests are ridiculous and my teacher always submits incorrect grades, so my Spanish grade is really low right now. -_- Not looking forward to AP Spanish next year at all…

AP Physics: I detested this class the first two weeks of school, but I’m slowly swinging around and having more fun in this class. Definitely the best science class I’m taking this year (although my feelings will probably change soon, haha).

AP Chem: I LOVED this class the first two weeks, but I’m starting to hate it more and more. I almost fell asleep today in class. We never get any homework and lectures are always straightforward, but test questions are so conceptual, difficult, and different from what we learn in class. :(

AP Calculus AB: Pretty chill class to start the day with, our teacher is very effective, and he is humorous and lighthearted at times. I also like math, and it’s a good class to start the day with.

English: Eh. I don’t like English that much. I’m great with vocabulary and grammar, though reading sorta sucks. We’re reading the Great Gastby, and just finished the Crucible by Arthur miller (play about the Salem Witch trials). My teacher is chill, yet sassy, definitely a good teacher.

AP Physics Mech: This class is the most amazing and awesome class I’ve ever taken. Although the material can be challenging at times, I really really love physics, and everything is so interesting. Our Physics teacher is a child in a man’s body, pulling pranks, puns, jokes, and random episodes (ranging from tazing a stinkbug to slamming a bowling ball on the table and screaming to annoy the AP Bio class next door). My classmates are pretty cool, too!

AP Environmental Science: A pretty chill class, my teacher is really engaging. Our class routine is pretty repetitive though. The material is fairly easy, and we learn it through a lecture and reading. All in all, a nice class to end the day.

AP Lit: Most boring class ever. The teacher just keeps talking and talking and everyone falls asleep in the class. The teacher makes it up by letting us rewrite our essays and be such an easy grader. The books in there are pretty boring also. I am biased since I have it first period and everyone is asleep.

AP Calculus AB: Review from Precalc so far. Doing limits, which I am the worst at lol. (Managed to get a 100 somehow on the first test) The teacher is a pretty cool teacher, gives little to no homework everyday, but tests every Friday. Obsessed with people using phones also that he forces everyone to put phones on his desk. Gives detention if he catches you using it.

AP Micro: Meh class. My teacher was my APUSH teacher last year, and he was AMAZING. He’s writing my formal rec. But this year, he is known for being a meh micro teacher but gives easy tests. Pretty serious sometimes and uses Youtube to teach us everyday. LOVES to give pop quizzes on homework (open-note) that some people who don’t care is struggling in his class.

AP Comp Gov: Tons of politicized people in that class, making it pretty much a debate about UN’s effectiveness and stuff. Pretty chill teacher, gives tons of reading, but never checks them. Gets really distracted as a result of these debates and other world issues we discuss. Interesting stuff in that class also.

AP Spanish: Our old AP teacher left to become the department head of another district, and she used to get 4’s and 5’s for everybody. And she was the BEST even though she brags a lot about how her kids went to Brown and Harvard. But now the new teacher is the worst ever. Can’t understand a word he says and plays favorites. Tests are based on pure memorization of vocab, which I hate a lot since that’s not what is tested on the AP exam, and they are REALLY hard. Grades you hard on participation when you can’t even participate since you don’t get a word he says. Pretty much the worst class ever.

AP Bio: I hate Bio, but the teacher makes the class somewhat fun and easy to memorize everything. Bio is Bio, what can I say?

AP Macro: Known to be the meanest and the hardest teacher of the whole school. But apparently treats seniors nicer than her freshman AP World class. Learns the same thing as Micro so far and can’t teach. Just shows powerpoints on the chapter. Goes off on a tangent on various kinds of stuff that makes the class really interesting. Gives big hw’s that is not due for like two weeks.

Generally, I like my schedule and my teachers except AP Spanish. That class is torture.
