I'm wondering when I should send in my AP Score reports.......should I wait until next summer when I know which school I'll be attending (and I will have my senior year AP scores?) or should I send official AP scores to all of the schools I'm applying to NOW?

Many of my friends and older people that I know are saying you only need to send your official AP Scores to that one school you decide to go to, so they can give you credit and whatnot. Is this completely true? I checked the websites for all of the schools I'm applying to, and they don't mention it or are very vague about it.

No college requires official AP reports for admission. If you want college to know of score for admission purposes just self-report it on app, in essay, or send a letter to the admissions office with a copy of your scores and ask they be included in your file. You do not send official scores until after you are admitted and you want the college to use the scores for college credit.

The only exception is a few colleges which allow you to choose to submit AP scores in lieu of SAT or SAT IIs but you have to make that choice and if you choose to rely on AP scores you need to send official scores to those (NYU is one of those which allow you to submit APs instead of SAT or SAT IIs).
