schools for a chemistry major?

<p>hey guys, hope you can help...</p>

<p>i am looking for a school (any kind, any place) that has a good chemistry program or is especially known for a good chemistry major.</p>

<p>any suggestions are very much appreciated! thanks!</p>

<p>I think chemistry is one of those majors that is pretty similar regardless of where you go … I think the difference is in research opportunities and the like … obviously there is a difference between ivies and lower tier schools … but not as big as in some other fields</p>

<p>As already mentioned, most top tier uni’s will have solid chemistry departments. If you’re looking for standouts:</p>

<p>Among private u’s, outside of the ivys, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Northwestern, and Chicago.</p>

<p>Among state u’s, Berkeley, Wisconsin, UCLA, Michigan, UNC-CH.</p>

<p>Among LACs, Harvey Mudd, Carleton, Reed, Williams.</p>
