What are the best Lutheran colleges for ministry? In particular, is St. Olaf's good for a future minister?

Susquehanna and Muhlenberg are both Lutheran colleges, but I do not know about their pre-ministry programs

Any of the denominational colleges should have a pre-divinity school program.

However, if you are looking ahead to several years of divinity school, you might want to consider going to a college/university that isn’t Lutheran for your undergraduate degree - in particular a big public university where you would rub up against people from many faith (and non-faith) traditions, and from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. Being able to work with a wide diversity of people is necessary in your chosen career field. A large public university will almost certainly have a Lutheran student group on campus that you can participate in.

Lutheran ministers I’ve known include graduates of University of Northen Iowa, Luther College (Decorah, IA), Iowa State University, and Bryn Mawr College. In other words, you can get where you want to go by many different routes!

Wishing you all the best.

[PLU - Pacific Lutheran University, academically rigorous liberal arts combined with professional programs, located in Tacoma, Washington, USA.](http://www.plu.edu/)

California Lutheran University?

But you can go most anywhere I suppose, and go to seminary after…
(I’m not sure how this works)

When I saw the title of the thread I was going to suggest St. Olaf because they are a Lutheran school with required religion courses, so they do take it seriously. But really I think almost any LAC would fit the bill just fine.
