Schools for Applied Mathematics?

My daughter is entering her senior year in college at a top 10 LAC. She has a 4.0 GPA in her major, which is math. She has also taken a number of physics and comp sci courses. She has not done any research at her college, but has worked at a research facility during the summer for the past three years. The first two summers she worked on programming projects, but this year she has been involved in physics/math research.

She wants to go on to graduate school and is thinking that applied mathematics might be a good field. Anyone have any recommendations for programs that she should investigate?

You can start by looking at the USNWR rankings for Applied Math:
1. MIT, NYU
3. Caltech
4. Stanford
5. Brown, Princeton, Berkeley, UCLA
9. Minnesota
10. Cornell
11. Carnegie Mellon, Maryland, Texas
14. Northwestern, Rice, Washington, Wisconsin
18. Georgia Tech, Chicago, Michigan
21. Harvard, RPI, Rutgers New Brunswick, SUNY Stony Brook, Arizona, Colorado
27. Duke, Purdue, UIUC, Yale

It's good that your daughter has a 4.0, but her research experience is severely lacking for the top programs. Also, does she have 3 professors that she could get excellent recommendations from?

NYU is really tops in this.
