Does he want a double degree? That is pursued more often for combining performance and an academic subject versus double major.

She’s not sure about double degree/double major, but needs to decide and narrow her list very soon. Pros & cons of varied degree options would definitely be of interest.
Sometimes seeing/hearing the information from someone who’s not a parent makes a difference.

As far as budget, we have a 529 plan which will help plus she’ll get a full Bright Futures scholarship if she attends a Florida school. That being said, she seems quite interested in going out of state although it could result in a larger financial burden.
I personally believe she has a better shot of earning scholarship money for clarinet than academics, because music has a smaller competitive field and she ranks higher musically than academically.
