so i search for schools in ABET website?

That would be a start. Also you need to glean as much data from the common data sets as you can. Since you will have a decent amount of financial need start looking for schools that will be in your price range if you get an average financial aid award.

could i have chance at getting into engineering schools in the 70-100 range in rankings… for example michigan state, uccon, university of central florida

You probably could but can you afford the oos tuition? You said you have a single parent have you talked about what she can afford? The cheapest of these has tuition and fees at about 25K a year.

I can afford anything in the 20-30 range. U of miami is very low in the rankings so do you think that would give me a better chance or not really

I don’t think U of Miami being low in the rankings will change your chances of acceptance (Very Low). The schools that you listed that were out of state are going to run more than 20-30 once you consider room and board.

Is UCF or Florida A&M hard to get into?

You don’t need 750 on the math SAT to get into a top 75 school. That’s absurd. Most flagship state universities’ engineering schools have a minimum math SAT requirement of 600-650. Some schools have a “pre-engineering” program you can get into if your math SAT is lower.

Is WPI on your list? I think they give scholarships quite often.

what are some good engineering schools you can get in with a 1800 SAT?

^you don’t get in any with just scores. What’s your gpa?

my gpa is 3.6

bfg-
Good luck to you.
Son1 just graduated from Miami. Great school. Your heritage will help you, but you may not get merit aid. Maybe grant money?
Son2 is engineering major at SUNY Buffalo and doing great. Great program. He is involved in research up there (paid), got a paid internship this summer (end of sophomore year). I highly recommend you apply and put it in your mix. May end up to be a wise and affordable decision.

I’m not sure being hispanic will help at U Miami. Race is only considered and fully 1/4 of undergrads are hispanic. http://www6.miami.edu/planning-research/CDS1011.pdf

*I live with a single mother so I guess i qualify. *

you need to get clarification from your dad as to how much he’ll pay per year. Don’t assume anything until you get a dollar value from him. He may be thinking of the cost of an instate SUNY…not a school like UMiami or some costly OOS public.

Most schools do not meet need. And right now, your stats aren’t high enough for the schools that do meet need.

Again, get a clear budget from your dad as to how much he’ll pay each year.

Being Hispanic won’t help at UMiami…you’re practically a ORM there.

can anyone tell me some other decent schools i would be able to get into?

When you answer this:
Throwing out random schools you can’t afford does noone any good.

15k to 20k a year

The University of South Dakota costs $20K/yr for OOS. [Private Education Loan Cost of Attendance - USD](http://www.usd.edu/financial-aid/private-education-loan-cost-of-attendance.cfm) There are others in the same region that are about the same. Your scores would be near the 75%ile as would your GPA. <a href=“Page Not Found | University of South Dakota”>http://www.usd.edu/academics/academic-affairs/institutional-research/upload/Common-Data-Set-2010-2011.pdf You could be in the running for a Presidential scholarship as well. [Scholarships - USD](http://admissions.usd.edu/cost-and-aid/scholarships.cfm)

do you know any schools i would have a good chance to get in to that have good job placement
