Hey there. I know the whole party hard state of mind might not be too popular on CC, but I'll give it a shot. I'm looking for schools with a work hard/party hard mentality--excellent academics and social life. Any suggestions?

This is a no-brainer. Go to Vanderbilt.

UVA (10 char).

I U

Penn

Duke

Dartmouth

Vanderbilt

Northwestern

UVA

Stanford

UMich

UVA and Penn fit that description perfectly.

Colgate---------------

Tulane, UCSB

I definitely agree with university of Pennsylvania. It is the school known for it's great balance in almost everything--which includes partying as hard as you study.

Also look into Syracuse.

1. Penn
2. Duke
3. Dartmouth
4. Vanderbilt
5. Northwestern
6. UVA
7. Stanford
8. UMich

This has to be a joke right? Duke? Dartmouth? NW? Stanford? Have you ever been to some of these places?

I'd say:

Vandy

UVA

UCLA

UMich

Penn

I thought of Duke, Vandy and Penn at once.

Yeah. Are YOU serious. Duke, Dartmouth, and NW party ALOT. I actually did an exchange term at UCLA and found the Dartmouth social scene to be much more alive, espeically considering the size of the schools.

My experience (among the top 10-15)

Dartmouth/ Penn

Duke/ Princeton

Brown/ Northwestern

Among the top 25:

UNC

Vandy

UVA

U T-Austin

Penn fit the bill for me....

If you get tired of the campus scene (which is unlikely the first few years...), you have the city of Philly to party in and explore (including parties at Villanova, Drexel, St. Joes, etc.......)

UW Madison?

Penn, Duke, Vanderbilt, Michigan.

UVA and Michigan.

A tier down, Madison.

This has to be flame. I live right by dartmouth and it has a notorioius reputation for being dead, especially in terms of partying. One of my good friends goes to NW and he also says it is dead. Listen, just because somebody throws a party on the weekend doesn't mean it's a party school. Calling Dartmouth and NW schools for smart kids who like to party is true of the former but not the latter.

Williams has plenty of partying.

How the hell isn't Cornell on these lists? A Corenll alum currently at UCSD is regularly complaining to me that there isn't a Cornell-caliber party in sight.
