Schools going test optional affecting the weight of high ACT scores

With COVID-19, many colleges and universities are switching to test optional. While this helps students who are affected by not being able to take the ACT/SAT or other impacts, does it negate the benefits of having a high test score? I have a 35 ACT, and I was just wondering if it carries less weight now in college admissions?

No, but don’t overestimate how much benefit a 35 had over other good scores (33,34) in “normal” times.

it may carry more as there will be less of them given out with a couple of test dates cancelled and as you say the students not taking them in the fall, as they’re optional. I doubt it will carry less weight.
