Schools going to wait list

In the last few years we have started a thread to share when/if schools have gone to their wait list. A WL student may want to call the school to see where he/she stands or decide to move on if he/she didn't get the call. Please add to the list, and later on if you know the WL is closed please share the information.

WashU STL May 3

Congratulations on Washu! Look forward to seeing you this Fall.

It’s not for my kid. I just saw it on the WashU forum. My kid got off her WL few years ago because of the info we got from CC. Since then, I’ve started this thread so people could be informed. Feel free to add to the list.

I can say that U Rochester is not - their class is full - overfull actually (by 8% according to the Dean). Do you want that sort of info too?

In general, good luck to those waiting on waitlists…

Yes, it would good for students to know which school is going to WL and which one is closed. If some top tier schools should go to its WL then we could expect summer melt.

A kid in the Carleton forum said that he got word that it’s not going to the WL.

According to posters on the Duke forum, adcoms have extended at least a handful of offers to waitlisted students beginning a couple of days before May 1st. Judging from the pattern of posts, the majority of those were for engineering (Pratt) rather than arts and sciences (Trinity).

Can’t swear to this one but have been keeping an eye on the University of South Carolina forum for a friend and a mom posted that the admissions fb site said they are not taking any more for summer or fall 2013. They did admit a bunch of kids for spring 2014. (If someone has better info, please correct me.)
