Schools I should be looking at

GPA: 3.6~

SAT:
1060/1600
1550/2400 (Yeah, I know)

EC:
Co-President roles
Several Clubs
Sports done in HS

Where should I be looking at?

Specifically, I want to look more into schools in the Northeast.

Clubs: Reputable non-profit organization
Two cultural clubs at my college
Two volunteering experience with kids
One sport

H.S. GPA is a 3.1

I have some definite schools on my list already(NEU, BC, BU) and I’m sending the application soon. I just need a couple more choices. :)

490 Reading; 490 W; 550 Math

Asian

Maybe you can try NYU

What kind of college are you currently attending? (Community college, top ranked private, state flagship, etc.)

And your SATs are really low. They are below the average for the schools you listed. If you are currently a freshman, I would actually recommend applying as a junior transfer because high school grades and SATs matter less and college grades matter more.

retake the SAT or ACT

Yeah, my SAT worries me the most. Will my GPA be able to make up for my bad SAT scores?

I’m currently attending a state school (Top ranked in my city)

OP, I’m going to echo DocRabbit and suggest that you retake the SAT or ACT. Seriously.

Would that be too late? I didn’t consider retaking the SAT because I called some admission officers and some told me that as long as my GPA is above their average, I should be fine.

Are you even a freshman yet? If so disregard what everyone says about retaking the sat. I had a superscore less than yours and i got into unc. It’s all about college coursework and extracurriculars once you are actually in college. If you are a high school senior saddle up and retake.

Edit: saw you are a freshman. Don’t listen to people saying retake your sat. Volunteer this summer and get good first semester grades and you’ll get into a few schools.

2nd edit: I suggest you wait a year and apply as a junior

Your SAT is much too low to transfer to a place like NYU as a college freshman.
