I'm a senior and requesting help with my college search. Lehigh is my first choice and I was wondering what other schools are identical to Lehigh. Going to major in Mechanical Engineering and minor in business. Thanks

I too like Lehigh and am applying there but you might want to check out Bucknell, Colgate, Union, Lafayette... they are similar and I believe they have engineering.

What are your stats????

Lehigh is my most reachy school and I have a 28 ACT, 3.94 u/w, 4.5 w, all AP/advanced courses, college classes, lots of extracurriculars(sports, community, leadership), a job, and applying as a female in civil engineering. I think that my standardized scores may hurt me.

I'm applying to Colgate early decision and Lehigh is my number 2 choice. i loved it, and on my college visits found Lehigh, Lafayette, and Colgate to be very similar (colgate being the best)

I would also look at Case Western (www.case.edu), they have a great engineering program.

Isn't Case Western in a different part of the country?

How about Bucknell? Probably as similiar to Lehigh as you can get. Union College in NY might also be worth a look.

3.5 GPA u/w. Lots of honor classes. AP calculus. many activities. 2 jobs, 1 internship at an accounting firm. applying for mechanical engineering. 1260 on SAT. Have a inside contact. Might minor in business.

Yes, now that the land mass that once connected Ohio and Pennsylvania is now split down the middle, you can consider Ohio another part of the country... :)

Case is just in Cleveland which is a hop skip and a jump over the border. Takes about 8 hours from where I live(I went there by car). Nice campus for a city school and if you want to do business and engineering, it is a very good school... I am looking into doing the same thing (Biomedical Engineering though, and management). However, my first choice is Rochester (ED) and my second is Case (EA)

Note - no business or engineering majors at Colgate.

is lehigh a competitive school to get into???? does anyone know thet average SAT scores, Grades ... of kids that get in???

Colgate doesn't have business majors, but it has a very strong economics program.

I think Lehigh is fairly competitive I would guess that their average SAT is around 1300??? Most of the kids I know who go or are applying are on the smarter side of the average realm... not super bright but hard workers and decent scholars.

... don't know exact numbers though

I agree with anovice........its gotten much harder to get into these past few years....a neighbor of ours didn't get in for this Fall....she had all AP's but scores around 1220.....she's at Univ. of Maryland now and loves it...

Here is a link to Lehigh's freshman class statistics...
