DD2 is looking at Univ of Sydney, Murdoch, and Massey Univ in NZ. Does anyone from the US have experience studying in any of these places - how competitive they are (vet school), how does the curriculum and selectivity compare with a typical US state univ, and any other considerations? Did you actually visit the places before you joined, and are there any areas that you would suggest we should be careful about? Did you take the ISAT and were you able to find something to prepare for it or did you just take it? Any suggestions regarding taking this test?

Sorry for this belated response…

As an Australian, I can say that the only tier 1 university on that list (within Australia) is the University of Sydney. About the top 2% of high school seniors are eligible for admission to their vet science degree, so you can make of that what you will. That said, to gain access to the university in general, students need to be in the top 15% or so. The curriculum will be completely different if he does the vet science degree - he’ll have specialised from day 1.
