Schools in different states-what chain business are you missing?

i hear there aren't that many costco's out in the east coast.. tis a shame, as costco is quite possibly the best store ever.

uyulove, are you from OK? I think I've made the opposite move. The nearest Starbucks is a good 10-15 mins from here, and the only Jamba Juice is on the complete other side of the city. I also don't think I've seen any Baskin Robbins or Sweet Retreats (which is just a Bay Area thing, I think). And the only Old Navy around here is in need of major help. Other than that, I think everything's just about the same, as far as I've noticed.

^ I'm from OK. I moved to SoCal several weeks ago.

What school are you going to? because i lived in edmond and we had 2 starbucks facing each other across the street and at least one more in city (and as you prob know, edmond's not that big) Jamba juice might be far... and i've seen several baskin robbins but never heard of sweet retreats.

There are lot of old navys I believe so if you want Old navy clothes but don't like the store i suggest visitng quail springs mall area (if i remember correctly)

This may not exactly fit the description but when i leave philly I miss cheesesteaks. I go to school in north/central jersey and the difference is astounding. I also miss the hogies one can buy here from almost any corner store. Though I am aware that "subs" are the equivalent everywhere else in the country, there's a marked difference between how good the sandwhich tastes. Give me a hoagie/ cheesesteak in the souteastern pa/southweastern jersey area and i'm a happy man.

Edit: Oh and Morone' s Water ice and a mustard pretzel...man oh man...i'm pretty sure someone knows what i'm talking about.

Haha, you stupid Philly kid, you call it water ice!

Don't you people understand that that doesn't even make sense?

Water isn't ice...ice isn't water...how can you have water ice??

(Just giving you a hard time because I have a friend from Philly who says that...haha :))

I'm from OH and am now in TN and I soooo miss my Wal-Mart. I could walk there in 5 minutes and it was great. I think there's one around here somewhere, but it's not even close enough to walk to.

I knew someone would come along with the water ice stab.......et tu? It's water ice becasue it's watery ice :P. But nah i'm telling you ... if it's water ice .. it's better. daggon north jersey and your subs/italian cheeseburgers/italian ices...if you're in philly you automatically assume its italian... half the people here are...hehehe

fl--> ny ...EINSTEIN BROS BAGELS!!

I was up in Philly last June...it was great. Everything's just so close and easy to get to.

There were some awful trees down by the Delaware River (close to the Ben Franklin Bridge) that made me sneeze like nothing else, though. I could barely catch a breath between the sneezes, and I was so glad when I finally got on the boat to Camden...just awful.

start up a sonic store

I can't think of anything I miss, yet!
I moved from the east side of Michigan to the west side and it actually seems like they have more here!! Metro Detroit doesn't have Fazoli's, for one! MMM!
But, so far, I've seen here almost everything that I would miss from home...
Wait...they probably don't have a LaShish or a Bangkok Cuisine. pout

what is an italian cheeseburger? i live in north/central jersey and i've never ever heard anyone say that

Palmtree4- I PROMISE that ANY bagel you find in New York is going to be exponentially better than anything they call a bagel in Florida.

Really. Truly.

There is no competition.

uyulove, I'm at OCU. And I've realized what I'm really missing - Mervyns! That is such a great store for cheap clothes, and the nearest one is somewhere in Texas. That's depressing.

I did find a Baskin Robbins today, though.

I'll have to check out Quail Springs Mall, I guess. I've only been to Penn Square Mall and Belle Isle. And it may just have been a bad day at Old Navy last week. It was better today when I went.

I've also found this to be true. Why are New York bagels so much better than all other bagels? I guess they're just magical.

Yeah.. OCU area isn't really the greatest...Right in middle of Oklahoma city downtown. Penn Square is probably the biggest and most diverse mall in the area followed by Quail (<- they have a nice movie theater here) the worst one is the Crossroads mall.. it's completely ghetto. Dont go there. Quail springs is near Edmond so it's usually the 'cleanest' mall, imo.

I haven't been to mervyns but for cheap clothes i would goto Gordmans (there's one right near Quail Springs mall) Ross is usually pretty ghetto but one in edmond's new and actually clean (they had some American Eagle clothes if that's up your alley.. hard to find though) And Steve and Barry's which is in Crossroads... (<- only store that matters in the whole mall along with the arcade) thats like midwest city area.

My church used to be right next to OCU btw and I know a girl who goes there. ^_^ (and several people who used to go there awhile ago) though most people i know went to OU,OSU, or UCO...Just wondering, why did you end up choosing OCU? I'm just curious because i used to be an oklahoman ;D good luck!

I'm at OCU as well. I'm missing In-N-Out and health food stores in general. :(
And yes ... I realize the contradiction in that statement :D

^There's a health food store on May a while down. I'll show you later.

And there's a Ross in Belle Isle that's not too bad, but it's nothing like a Mervyns.
And I chose OCU for its really good theatre program.
