Can anyone tell me about any of these schools?like how are the parties?and the academics?

University of Central Florida
University of Florida
Florida State University
University of Miami
University of Tampa
University of South Florida

University of Tampa: The only real parties there are off campus in Ybor City. It's not known as a party campus. Academics wise, good to go there for business but forget it for any other major.
(Personally, I wouldn't go to UT. You want a party school with good academics: go to UF.)

Academically, UF and UM are probably your best bets, followed by FSU.
All 3 are also party schools, but theres always an eclectic mix of student types, as with any university.

UCF and USF are semi-commuter schools, though a growing % of students are from outside the immediate region.

actually USF is becoming a well known school now, second biggest university behind UF. Many people in my school, who are smart, are going to usf.

so my ranking for academics are

UF
UMiami
FSU
UCF
USF
UTampa

i know UF and FSU are party school, but i cant make judgement on the other school, since i dont know.

UM, UF

FSU

USF, UCF, U of T

UF/UM are both party schools and have great academics. UM is better in the sciences, but since you're interested in prelaw/criminal justice UF is the better choice.

Do any of you know anything about Flagler College? My s heard or read that it is a very affordable and small private school in Florida. We are starting to look around at some possibles for him and would love to hear more about it if anyone has any information. Thanks!

But it's extremely religious and the academics are lacking. My friend stayed overnight (I only went to visit) and she hated it, mainly because of the uncaring student/uncaring faculty body.

I only knew one person who went there, and she transferred to UF after her first year.

Effulgent,
The religious factor wouldn't be a factor as my s is pretty devout for a teen, but he is a strong student so....Do you know anything about the reputation for their art department? He looked online and they have a large number of faculty for that department (8 profs) given it is such a small school. Thanks for your reply!
