Schools in the West?

I live in Arizona, and most of the schools on my list are all on the East Coast. I want to study either International Relations or International Business, and most of the best programs are on the East coast. But do any of you know of any remotely prestigious international programs closer to the West Coast? Thank you so much.

Did you check the liberal arts colleges?

I think Occidental, Claremont McKenna, and Lewis & Clark have good reputations for International Relations.

DWA at Occidental College
Claremont McKenna College
Department of International Affairs

I'm sure Stanford is good

USC (southern california) has the 3rd oldest school for International relations in the world; its a great program.

Santa Clara.

I'm not sure if they technically have the majors, you'd have to check, but I know they have a great international focus that really prepares students to work in IR.

Wow! I'll definitely look into those. Thank you so much!

Check out Pepperdine. They have a great Business program including International business. They also have a great study abroad program that takes business majors to China. My D's friend went and he said it was an incredible experience with lots of learning and business connection in the international setting.

I do not know if Colorado College has what you are looking for, but outside of Pomona it is the best liberal arts school outside of the East Coast.

Lewis and Clark (while not as selective or prestigious as some of the other schools mentioned here) is a west coast leader in terms of international focus and international studies. 60% of L&C students study abroad per year, and the school has one of the larger international populations of the west coast.

Colorado College is a very good LAC that is the best college b/w Grinnell, Iowa and Pomona. If you like highly intellectual look to Reed in Oregon.

University of Denver has wonderful internationally focused programs. Also check out their Cherrington Global Scholars program--it's very impressive.
