I'm curious about a couple of schools - specifically their Acting Program - that I don't see addressed much, if at all on CC (unless of course I am searching wrong!).

1) New York Film Academy offers a BFA in Acting; but, I'm not really seeing anyone talk about it. Any info (pros/cons) out there?

2) Wakeforest. They apparently show up for auditions at ITS-States in Virginia; but, I don't see any reference to them on this forum.

3) University of Cincinatti. They also show up for auditions at ITS-States in Virginia. I see a couple of references to their technical theatre & music conservatory; but, not really anything on their acting program.

If anyone has anything to share; I'd appreciate it!
Thanks.

As far as New York Film Academy, you can use the CC Search function and see what comes up as it is mentioned occasionally on CC but you have to realize that CC tends to deal mostly with college degree programs and NYFA offers a one or two year acting program, not a degree program for undergraduates.

As far as Wake Forest, it is a BA school and there are lots and lots of BA schools in the country that have a theater major and so these are not discussed quite as much on the Drama forum as some of the BFA programs, but CC has a Wake Forest Forum (on many things about Wake Forest).

University of Cincinnati’s program in Acting or Musical Theater is referred to usually as CCM and most people tend not to write “University of Cincinnati” in their posts. CCM is certainly mentioned on the Drama Majors forum (use the Search function) and there is an entire CCM forum on the Musical Theater forum. You may also wish to see the posts or PM a mom named letsfigureitout as her son is a student in CCM’s BFA in Acting program and her daughter was admitted there in this year’s admissions cycle as well and she knows that program well.

Thank you soozievt.

I’m not sure why I thought NYFA had a 2 year NYC + 2 year LA BFA Acting Program…thanks for the correction!

I will do another search for CCM and look at the Wake Forest forum.

The school that has the blend of a 2 year certificate/4 year BFA, with NYC and LA locations, is AMDA, not NYFA.

Good luck!

The New York Film Academy does have a BFA program: [BFA in Filmmaking | Los Angeles, California](Bachelor of Fine Arts | BFA Degrees | NYFA)

However, for acting they only offer Associates and MFA degrees.

Right, but I was just referring to Acting which is what the OP was asking about. And for that, they do not have a BFA program.

I don’t hear the University of Michigan get mentioned too often (except for its MT program). It also offers a BFA degree in performance, directing, and design & production, as well as a Bachelor of Theatre Arts.
